QuietBack

The quieter carpet tile

The highest performing commercially graded acoustic carpet tiles among our flooring products feature QuietBack, a construction method that optimizes acoustic performance.

The face pile layer is attached directly to the felt backing, allowing the pile and backing to work together to gather in and trap sound waves.

Traditional methods of acoustic carpet construction focus on increasing pile mass to increase sound absorption. However, this method has the effect of compromising commercial wear ratings to achieve the absorptive benefits.

In QuietBack construction, the face pile layer is attached directly to the felt backing, allowing the pile and backing to work together to trap and absorb sound.

This construction also eliminates commonly used, armful, and sound-reflecting  PVC, bitumen, and fiberglass substrates, allowing the product to offer environmental, performance, and comfort benefits alongside superior sound management.
